Everything

Yesterday, my smart phone stopped receiving and sending emails spontaneously.  I tried everything to fix the problem on my own before heading into the Verizon store.  I really did not have time to make a stop in the store but my email is really important as it is the way the teachers and the nurse at school communicate with me about my daughter’s blood sugar levels and insulin dosage.  As an overprotective, type A, slightly OCD mother, I NEED those numbers if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I went into the store fully expecting one of the techies there to fix the problem.  In the past, they always have been able to help me.

Instead, they were not able to fix it.  After many attempts, we decided it must be an issue with my email provider.  So the plan was for me to return home and see if it was down on my home computer as well.  It was not.  It was working just fine.

So I called the technical support and spent several hours with them trying everything they could think of to fix it.  I went through several tiers of technical support and finally, we just gave up.

This morning, I woke early and went down to check the phone and still, it was not working.

Somewhat reluctantly, I decided to pray. I have admitted before that sometimes I just feel like God is too busy with “big” things to worry about my little things.  But I really need this email working today!

So I prayed and it went like this:  “God, please fix this email for me.  You seem to be the only one who can do it.  I need it.  I know you are busy.  But I also know you want me to come to you with everything in my life, not just the big things.  So here I am.  Please fix it for me.  Please.”

I tell you the truth, the emails started coming in.  That’s right.  Immediately, my email was fixed.

I am just giddy this morning.  I cannot stop singing and smiling.   I woke up my family with this enthusiasm and I could not wait to sit down and share it with you!!!

So the message to you today is this:  Don’t just look for miracles and for God to work for you in the big things in life.  Look for him in the small things as well.

There will be people who will look at what happened with my phone and think things like “well, maybe there was a server issue that was resolved.”  Or “maybe her phone had to do some kind of update.”  Or yada, yada, yada.

But if you know God, you know it was him.  No doubt about it.  None.  It was God.

What is faith?

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
And what did Jesus have to say about faith?

Mark 11:22
“Have faith in God, Jesus answered.”

Matthew 17:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 21:21
“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”

Matthew 14:31
“Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Enough said.
