“Give thanks to the LORD for He is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
All of us have been spiritually bankrupt, physically shattered, emotionally crushed - weeping, grieving, humbled, hopeless, and in need of something much bigger than ourselves. Thankfully, we serve a God of mercy and grace who promises that because of Jesus, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13). Everyone.
To the one who deceived himself and was led astray; who wandered off recklessly and staggered in a drunken stupor down the wrong road and is lost, homeless, hungry and thirsty - near the brink of death, Cry out to the LORD in your trouble and He will come after you, gather you, deliver you from your distress and satisfy, provide, and fill you with good things.
To the one who defied, disobeyed, and rebelled against God’s commands and is a prisoner in solitary confinement, bound in iron chains of misery and regret, Cry out to the LORD in your trouble and He will save you from your distress, bring you out of the darkness, and set you free.
To the one who foolishly rebelled against God and as a result got hurt (dishonored, disgraced, mistreated, violated, afflicted) and is now sick, unable to eat, and waiting on – and wishing for - death, Cry out to the LORD in your trouble and He will save you from your distress, heal you, and rescue you from the grave.
To the one who simply found himself in the middle of a terrible storm that came up out of nowhere and is terrified and unable to think clearly, Cry out to the LORD in your trouble and He will bring you out of your distress, calm the storm, and guide you to safety.
Regardless of what you’ve done or how far you’ve run from Him, whether you simply got caught up in someone else’s foolishness, or merely found yourself smack dab in the middle of an unexpected storm, you can cry out to the LORD and know He will come. And when He comes, He will deliver, provide, satisfy, ransom, heal, restore, redeem, and save. Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men. Let us bring our praise and our thanks as a sacrifice as we sing our story of miracles with a joyful song. Let us exalt Him and praise Him to all people!
